Compared to Spline Mesher Standard, this version of the asset features advanced new functionality and is based on an improved architecture yielding a significant performance increase.

Comparison

Potential improvements

  • Repacking vertex data into smaller formats, reduced mesh file sizes by at least 33%. This currently isn’t possible as it crashes Unity’s lightmap UV generation process. A workaround is in mind.
  • Pivot position control for the created meshes.
  • Vertex Color control for the Fill Mesher component.
  • A Spline Profile input mesh, create a shape using another spline
  • Fill Mesher: extrusion functionality. Generate a secondary mesh along the spline curve.

Known issues

  • Using the same Root transform with a Spline Curve Mesher and Spline Fill Mesher at the same time results in both cannibalizing each others meshes.
  • Enabling Collision doesn’t appear to do anything, until the “Collision Only” checkbox is toggled. Currently inconsistently reproduced.
