3.3.Caps #

Caps are prefabs that can be attached to the start- and/or end of the generated mesh. These are instantiated as child-objects and are positioned accordingly.

These offer an excellent way to terminate a mesh. And because they are prefabs, they can contain complex colliders, and even be splines of their own!

To ensure that the component does not leave any stray prefabs around, the created cap objects are sometimes destroyed and recreated entirely. Then happens when:

  • The number of splines within the container changes, which then also changes the number of needed caps.
  • A cap object was manually deleted at some point, resulting in a missing cap.
  • The assigned prefab was changed to a different one.

Be aware that when making manual adjustments to them, such as prefab overrides. These changes made be lost if any one of the conditions above are met.
