3.4.Terrain Layers
The Terrain Layer masking functionality can:
- Remove objects that sit above specific terrain layers.
- Make objects exclusive to where certain layers are painted.
Under the hood, splatmap data from terrains intersecting the splines is captured and processed on the GPU, the process has been optimized to be fast as possible.

The Auto respawn on terrain change option is enabled by default. Whenever a terrain’s splatmap is changed through painting operations, any Spline Spawner component using Terrain Layers that overlaps the changed area will auto-respawn. This keeps normal workflows intact, without needing to bother with a spawner.
The available terrain layers (as shown in dropdown menus) are grabbed from the first available and active terrain. The functionality is based off the conventional workflow, where all terrain tiles have an identical layer setup.
