5.3.Snow & Wetness shading #

The shader can be globally modified to add snow coverage and wetness shading. This is for use with (dynamic) weather systems.

Component

The Stylized Grass Weather Controller component can set up the global snow & wetness values, which is then passed onto the shader.

You can create one through GameObject->Effects->Grass Weather Controller.

COZY 3

When using this asset, the component isn’t needed. It’s Interactions module can directly set the snow/wetness values according to the current weather conditions.

This is required to be set up, but this can be automatically achieved through Window->Stylized Grass->Hub Window->Installation tab.

Note that COZY’s snow shading differs from the implementation in the grass shader. COZY does not expose a sort of “Apply snow” shader function, so it cannot be mirrored 1:1

Enviro 3

This asset requires no set up. Just having the Stylized Grass Weather Controller component present and enabled is sufficient.

If an Enviro instance is detected the component will fetch Enviro’s wind strength and direction.
